Christ alone

Everything I am is because of Him. I have no identity apart from Him, no life, no freedom, no love.

He is my all; He is everything; He alone is God.

Before the earth was formed He knew me; before the earth was formed He made His choice.

It was a choice, for me. No one took His life from Him; He gave it up of His own will.

They accused Him of profaning God. And then they put God on a cross and left Him to die.

Because His Father said so.

In the garden He agonized, prayed, cried out; before His accusers and facing His tormentors He was silent. Truth stood still and uttered no word, and Pilate ordered that Truth be sent to Skull Hill and crucified.

He hung suspended, bleeding, trembling, the Maker of galaxies and constellations. He can hold the universe in the palm of His hand, and He hung on a Roman cross outside Jerusalem, while Tiberius ruled the world.

Reluctantly the earth accepted the blood of its Maker. It must be so.

Down His head dropped; the ground convulsed in pain, unable to bear defeat.

It shook again on Sunday morning, a shout that all creation could feel, glorious, victory.

And the Victor stood on His maimed feet and rattled a ring of keys.

And my captors trembled, and knew their loss, and the walls of my prison quaked, and the doors flew open.

And I walked out of my tomb and stood beside Him. A victor, too, and more than a victor, through Him who loves me.

He was dead and is alive, and so I am. Through Him. He is all.

In Christ alone I place my trust
And find my glory in the power of the Cross
In every victory, let it be said of me
My source of strength, my source of hope
Is Christ alone.

Reminds me of what you said at the 5th quarter in December - Pilate asked Jesus "what is truth?" and didn't listen for an answer, didn't know that he was speaking to Truth in the flesh.

Also, when I read this post, Romans 8: 19-25 came to mind...

I love you, Luke my wonderful, and I'm proud of you. Fully understanding that God gives you the victory, I'm proud of you...

Hey! You need to look at my blog, I had a dream about you and your brother. Nothing weird or creepy there, I dream about everyone even if I've only seen them once. I'll be dreaming then wake up and think, "hey! that was the cashier from Wal*Mart!", lol.

Nice, I like that a lot!
Yeah, Eli's not half as good, but I like him cuz he's a Manning I guess:P Dad hates the NYG. I don't have a lot of teams I "don't like" as long as my teams do well. I wanted the Giants to beat Dallas, now I want Packers to beat Giants.

Hmm, if the guy you're thinking of doesn't have a thing for red dye, then I'm not sure you do know... Or, i don't...
:^P

Luke Hobbs said...

Hahaha, you're right, darling. Red Skittles. Probably not green; he doesn't need to be given green right now.

Unknown said...

I know why red ;^P
But I don't get it; why not green?
I can guess, though...

:^P

Is it a relative of any of ya'll? Come now tell me. Would I have to give these skittles and little bit of chocolate to the person via someone else or would I see this person and so be able to give them myself? Come now Meaggy and I wish to know!

Please tell.

Brandon's Girl said...

uhhh, I'm thoroughly perplexed now.... skittles and chocolate. Hmmm, chocolate is better, just so you know..... confusion hurts, like depression.

I was thinking. Have I even met this person? There are people that ya'll know and I have heard of but have never before met! So have I met the "person"?

Emma said...

Lady I think you have met The Person. But you don't *know* them. You have heard a good bit about them. They're awesome, but def. crazy Meggy. I couldn't believe when they told me they didn't want chocolate, that they'd rather have skittles. But I don't understand about red skittles...?? And I would tell... I would've told long ago... I love to be able to spill a secret... lol but don't worry I don't if I can't... :P But Hannah won't let me tell... of course, maybe I should, to prove to *some* people that I *DO* have a mind of my own... (I do, don't I Meggy? I proved that on the one subject we def. disagree on, right? :P)

Anonymous said...

Emma dearie, I'll tell in email why red skittles...or Lana can. :P I don't care... :)
But, Emma!!!!! Pllllleeeeasseee??? This is funnnn.....
And, Emma, y'all disagree on Mr. Darcy too....member? :P
Very witty, Luke. No, he prolly doesn't want green. At least not at this moment. But, he still wants yellow...

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, there's two subjects. Hannah I don't really believe you know the other subject... oh well. Anyway.... "HE doesn't want green"??? you gave another clue!!! What's with the green???

I just wrote this whole long post with multiple questions about are blog invader and guess what! It didn't go through. snapdragons and goldfish.

Now where was I?

Nan, DEARIE, give me a good hint if you will not divulge the asked for information.

Em, dear, you revealed the HE thing long ago.

I would dare to guess that this criminal mastermind goes to ya'll church.

Is this person a big person or a youngster who isn't yet wed? Yes I know weird way of differentiating but hey.

Doth this person have a sibling with whom I may be aquainted?

Where do you supose that I met this person? FtF?

Ya'll it being a guy I doubt I met him cuase I haven't met guys from you church unless they be homeschoolers. Unless it is.... and I.... when.... ooo maybe...

And you said the person was a bit crazy?

Anonymous said...

Did we??? :) Well, he'd have to be crazy to want Skittles instead of chocolate...I mean, I would, but that's ME. :P
Sibling? Church? Homeschooler? Big person? Married? Fan the Flame? CRIMINAL MASTERMIND?
Ha, *someone* will have to communicate that at some point in time to this said person. :P
Who do you think it is????
What makes a good hint? Hmmm...He wears Nike's...mostly, that is. Nope, not good hint. Idk, let me think for a while...
Oh, yeah, and Luke, I tagged you....you don't HAVE to do it, but...*pitiful eyes*I...*mouth trembles*Well, I'd...*eyes begin to well up* I'd like you to...*pitiful face in completion stage*
:)!

Luke Hobbs said...

He actually is a criminal mastermind-in-training. Ask him about it sometime.

Oh, and Emy, I have no idea what you mean by "tagged".

Anonymous said...

When shall I have access to this mastermind-in-training to ask him?

Nan, dear, hints are answering the questions that I have laid upon the table.

Don't tag me cause I don't understand it either.

Emma said...

*I* will answer!! But first, I didn't reveal that it's a he!! did I? I read my old comments and can't find it.
He goes to our church. He is a "big person" and married. He has a sibling that I am acquainted with, but you aren't. You saw him at FtF, if not met him. He's pretty crazy. And as for a criminal mastermind, def. He's actually a gang leader, right Luke? And at least somewhat crazy... yup.

Luke, twasn't *I*, twas Nan who tagged you. Tagging is.... well usually it's kina like an survey-type thing... ya know, you answer the questions and usually email them to people so they'll know more about you, but tagging is when someone posts it on their blog, then "tags" people, who in turn post it on their blog. Does that make sense?

Luke Hobbs said...

Oh sorry, Emy, for some reason I thought it was you...I honestly have no idea whether I wish to be tagged or not, but I suppose I shall check it out.

Unknown said...

I haven't checked out the tag yet, either. I don't usually do tags...
It was revealed that our criminal mastermind (he'll love that!) is a male, when Hannah posted this "And, yellow.....it's his favorite color." note the "his" and after that, the gender was revealed, and I also resorted to the use of gender specific pronouns... Emy, however, continued with the use of plural, neuter pronouns, for whatever reason :^P

Am I aquainted with his sibling? I can't recall, it's tough to keep everyone straight...

Luke Hobbs said...

Yeah, we talked to the sibling after church, about the wedding and I don't know what else, and then afterwards the sibling's daughter was hanging around us while we were sitting on the stage.

OK, I am going to have to post and put an end to this nonsense!

Emma said...

Ooh the sibling's daugher is SOO cute!! :D Haha, yeah right, Luke... you only THOUGHT you were putting an end to it by posting. LOL Lana I continued to use non-gender-specific pronouns b/c *I* wasn't the one who gave it away in the first place. :P

Attention!

This blog is under reconstruction (not to be confused with the Andrew Johnson administration).
